Collection: Arman, Fernandez

* 1928 Nice - † 2005

biography

The artist, born in Nice in 1928 as Armand Fernandez, is one of the leading exponents of the “Nouveaux Réalistes” group, founded in 1960, alongside Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, César and Jean Tinguely. Since 1959, Arman has gained an international reputation primarily through his Accumulations, accumulations of identical, prefabricated products such as shoe trees, violins and gears sealed in Plexiglas. In the serial multiplicity, the individual subject is transformed beyond its everyday banality into a new aesthetic of beauty.
