Marini was born on February 27, 1901 in Pistoia (Italy). He began his training in 1917 at the Accademia de Belle Arti in Florence and began sculpting in 1928/29. He later worked as a teacher at the art school in Monza and as a professor of sculpture in Milan. The preferred motifs in Marini's archaic-representational paintings include depictions of horses and riders.
