In the 1960s, Warhol became famous with paintings and screen prints in which he enlarged photographs from various mass media and reproduced them as variations. In 1963, Andy Warhol began producing avant-garde films at the same time. Most of them were made in the environment of his Warhol Factory, which as a collective of artists had a significant influence on his work.
